Every substantive change to the site is dated and listed; entries are never deleted; a page whose "Updated" date has not moved has not changed.

This is the record kept by the editors who sign the site as the love gurus: what changed, on which page, and why.

What goes in the changelog?

The changelog holds every change that moves a page's "Updated" date. A change counts as substantive when it alters what the page says, and only a substantive change is logged with a new date.

These changes are logged and move the date:

  • A formula change
  • A corrected fact
  • A new section
  • A rewritten answer
  • A new or changed source

These changes are not logged and never move the date:

  • A template or styling change
  • An ad slot change
  • A schema change
  • An internal link change
  • A rebuild of the site

A scheduled review that changed nothing is logged as "reviewed, no change" and does not touch the page date. Entries are never deleted or edited; a mistaken entry gets a new entry that corrects it. The rules behind this are in how pages are written, labelled and reviewed.

How is a changelog entry written?

A changelog entry is written in three parts: a first line with the date and the kind of change, a one-line summary of at most 280 characters, and the pages it touched. A correction adds a line that says what was wrong. A formula change adds the tool, the old version, the new version and the reason.

Every entry carries one of eight kinds:

  • Reviewed, no change

A formula change names the tool and the two version numbers listed under how we calculate every compatibility score.

  1. · Formula change

    The moon phase overlay now scores how much of the disc the two lit parts cover between them. Version 1.0, written earlier the same day and never published, added the two phase fractions instead.

    moon: version 1.0 to version 2.0. Version 1.0 added the two phase fractions and measured the distance from a whole cycle, which scored a new moon laid over a full moon 0 and a waxing crescent laid over its matching waning gibbous 50, although both fill the circle in the picture the page draws. Version 2.0 measures the picture: the fraction of the disc the two lit parts cover between them.

  2. · Formula change

    Birth chart compatibility (synastry) built at version 1.0 with a golden file: positions from astronomy-engine 2.1.19 (MIT), checked against JPL Horizons, the section 11 orbs and weights as written, a no-birth-time mode, and a 300-city list for the time zone.

    synastry: version none to version 1.0. First build. The methodology named no ephemeris library; it now names astronomy-engine 2.1.19. On 2026-09-22 the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn longitudes for four fixed births were compared with the NASA/JPL Horizons ephemeris (DE441): every one of the 28 values agrees within 0.003 degrees. The orbs, the pair weights and the 3 degree no-birth-time Moon widening are still proposed and wait for the astrologer reviewer.

  3. · Formula change

    Three Wave 2 formulas built at version 1.0 with golden files: the moon phase overlay, the soulmate readings, and the Chinese zodiac verdict with a verified lunar new year table for 1924 to 2031.

    chinese: version none to version 1.0. First build. The four trines, six secret friend pairs and six clash pairs were verify-flagged; on 2026-09-22 they were checked against two independent references each, and the lunar new year dates against three. One row, 1925, is contested between 24 and 25 January and is set to 24 January on the majority reading and the astronomical new moon.

  4. · Formula change

    The name, crush and friendship calculators move to the documented TRUE LOVE paper rule before launch: add the TRUE counts, add the LOVE counts, set the two totals side by side.

    Love Calculator (names): version 1.0 to version 2.0. Version 1.0 ran the neighbour-adding reduction of a different paper game over eight counts. No source documents that mix, and it did not finish for most real name pairs. Version 1.0 was never published.

  5. · Formula change

    The zodiac rating keeps its points and changes its bands before launch: a semisextile or a quincunx now reads as a match that takes adjustment, and only a square reads as challenging.

    Zodiac Compatibility: version 1.0 to version 1.1. Version 1.0 put 36 of the 78 sign pairs in one band and defined a fifth band that no pair could reach. The points are unchanged. Version 1.0 was never published.

Where are the release test results?

The release test results are on the methodology page, in the table under the test protocol. Each release runs eight checks, and the table is regenerated at build. A check that nobody ran reads "not run", never "passed".
