A love percentage is the number a love calculator gives two names, from 0 to 100, and it describes the letters in those names rather than the two people. It comes out of a fixed formula, which is why the same two names return the same percentage every time you ask. The site sorts that number into five bands, one for each stretch of the scale, and that is what your score means.

A love percentage of 0 to 29 means the formula found very few of its letters in your two names. That is all it found. Full names usually move it, because a surname adds letters to count.

What does a love percentage of 30 to 49 mean?

A love percentage of 30 to 49 sits below half. The formula is hedging, which is what a formula does when it has counted letters and nothing else.

What does a love percentage of 50 to 69 mean?

A love percentage of 50 to 69 is the middle of the scale, and it is where most name pairs land. Fifty is not a pass mark and it is not a fail.

What does 100% mean on a love calculator?

On a love calculator, 100 percent means the tool's own top of scale and nothing more than that. Which tools reach it is the part worth knowing. The Love Tester reaches it, because its score is a remainder after dividing by 101, so 100 is one of the values it can land on. The name calculator, the crush calculator and the friendship calculator cannot, because their score is two single digits set side by side, and the highest two single digits make is 99.

Why does the name calculator stop at 99?

Because the score is built from two digits rather than from a percentage. The formula counts the letters of TRUE across both names and reduces that total to one digit, then does the same for LOVE and writes the two digits side by side. The highest it can write is 9 then 9. A TRUE digit of 0 gives a score under 10, which is why very low scores happen and are not a bug. The Love Tester is the only tool on this site that can show you 100, and it says so on its own page.
