Love compatibility is the degree to which two people fit as a pair, as measured by a named method and expressed as a percentage, band, verdict or rating; this site measures it by name, by birthday and by questions, and labels each method.

What is love compatibility?
Love compatibility is always the result of a named method, never a fact on its own, which is why every tool on this site says which method it runs.
The result comes in one of four forms: a percentage, a band, a verdict or a rating. Which form your compatibility score takes depends on the method, because a name formula produces a number and a pairing of two signs produces a verdict.

How do you check compatibility?
You check compatibility in one of three ways, depending on what you know about the other person: their name, their birthday, or the answers the two of you give.
- By name. A love calculator takes two names and returns a Love Score, and ours is labelled Game. The love calculator on the home page is the oldest tool here, and the other name games sit in the list further down.
- By birthday. Two birth dates give two sun signs and two numbers. The tools that use them follow a named tradition, astrology or numerology, and are labelled Tradition; the zodiac tool gives the two signs a match verdict. - By questions. You answer, alone or together, and the tool shows a pattern in your answers, so the two of you can compare how each one responded. These tools are labelled Research-informed, and they are self-reflection tools, not assessments.

How compatible are we?
"Are we compatible?" is a fair question, and no five questions can answer it. What the five questions at the top of this page can do is find the right tool for what you know and what you want. They take under a minute, ask for no names and no personal details, and keep nothing.

Yes. On this site a calculator, a checker and a test are the same kind of thing: two people in, one result out. The word changes with the input, not with the idea. A calculator takes names or dates. A compatibility quiz takes answers.

A compatibility calculator turns two inputs (names, birthdays or answers) into one score; this hub lists every calculator on the site by method with its label. A romantic compatibility calculator is the same thing under a longer name, since every tool here is about two people as a pair.

A love compatibility test is any of the instruments on this site that turn two people into one score; pick by name, by birthday or by questions, and every one is labelled. The phrase covers all three labels, so check the label before you read the result.

The compatibility checker on this page is the five-question tool at the top, which picks a starting tool and does not score anyone. A compatibility check anywhere else on the site means running one of the listed tools.
"Compatibility test" also names software, hardware and blood tests; this page is about two people. The love gurus can't help with your printer.
