How does LoveCalculator.love handle copyright complaints?

We act on complete notices sent under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. section 512). We respect copyright, and a complete notice is one that carries the six elements listed below. The site's text and illustrations are original; the formulas of the games are folk methods, published on the methodology page. If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, send a notice to the address below.

What must a DMCA notice include?

A notice must include six elements:

1. your physical or electronic signature;
2. identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
3. the URL on this site of the material you say infringes it;
4. your address, telephone number and email;
5. a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
6. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for the owner.

What happens after a notice, and how do you file a counter-notice?

A complete notice leads to removal, and the person whose material was removed may answer with a counter-notice. The steps are:

1. We remove or disable access to the material identified in a complete notice promptly, notify the person who posted it if there is one (this site has no user uploads; the only user content is moderated comments where enabled), and keep a record.
2. A person whose material was removed may send a counter-notice with the elements section 512(g) requires.
3. We forward it to the complainant and may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the complainant tells us they have filed a court action.

What happens if a DMCA notice is misused?

Anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing, or was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages under section 512(f).

Where do other complaints go?

Other complaints have their own routes:

• Corrections go through the editorial policy.
• Privacy requests go through the privacy policy.
• Anything else goes through the contact page.
