What Is My Zodiac Sign? Find It by Birthday

Tradition: Western astrology. A tradition, not a forecast. Astrologers read it this way; the evidence does not.

Your zodiac sign is the sign the Sun was in when you were born. Pick your birth month and day to see it; add the year, time and time zone to settle the 24 boundary days, where the sign can go either way.

Why the dates shift

The tropical year, the time the Sun takes to come back to the same point of the zodiac, is about 365.24 days. A common year has 365, so the moment the Sun enters each sign drifts about 6 hours later each common year and moves back after a leap day. The same moment also falls on different dates in different time zones. The dates most calendars use are the days where the majority sign of US Eastern birth hours changes over the years 1950 to 2029, and this site's count of those hours found no date where the two disagree. The table gives the dates on which the Sun entered each sign in those years.
