Life Path 6 and 6 Compatibility
Tradition: Pythagorean numerology. A tradition, not a forecast. Numerologists read it this way; the evidence does not.

Life path 6 and 6 are a natural match on one popular reading of Pythagorean numerology: two of the same number, in the 3-6-9 group, and the 9 x 9 grid our calculator uses gives the pair a grid score of 85%.

Life path 6 and life path 6 are the two inputs here. To open this pair in the calculator, or to try two other numbers, check 6 and 6 on the 9 x 9 grid. If you do not know your life path numbers yet, enter two birthdays and try your birthday match; the result shows both numbers and both sun signs.
How does the 9 x 9 grid read life path 6 and 6?
One popular way to read life path pairs sorts the nine numbers into three groups, 1-5-7, 2-4-8 and 3-6-9, and treats numbers in the same group as natural matches. Not every numerologist uses it: numerology.com, for example, lists matches number by number and rates 3 with 6 as a difficult pair. Our grid uses the three-group reading and says so.
Life path 6 and life path 6 are the same number twice, inside the 3-6-9 group. Our grid holds every same-number pair at one fixed value, set a little below two different numbers of the same group, and the method box on this page gives the rule in figures.
The grouping is one popular form of Pythagorean numerology. Joy of Numerology calls the three sets "concords" and describes them as "harmonious". Healing Sounds names 3, 6 and 9 the Creatives, linked with emotion, creativity and helping others. The master number 33 also reduces into this pair, and the note after the article explains how the grid treats it.
Does every numerologist rate life path 6 and 6 the same way?
No. Numerology.com, one of the largest numerology references, does not use the groups, and its list for a 6 shows it. It names 3, a member of the same 3-6-9 set, among the least compatible partners for a 6. A publisher that splits a group this way is working from a different rule, so its view of two 6s need not agree with ours. Each numerologist publishes its own table. Ours is one stated rule, and a numerologist has not yet reviewed it.
How do life path 6 and 6 do in love, marriage and friendship?
One grid cell covers all three, because the grid compares two life path numbers and nothing else.
How does numerology read two life path 6s in love?
In the grouping view, two 6s are two Creatives, and Healing Sounds ties that set to emotion, creativity and helping others. A same-number pair holds that theme twice over. Numerology.com's split of the 3-6-9 set shows the view is contested. Either way, it is a tradition many people find meaningful, not evidence about how the two of you love.
Can a life path 6 marry another 6?
Yes. Numerology rates a pairing and never forbids one, and the grid gives life path 6 and 6 the same verdict for marriage as for love. Some numerologists add one more step for marriage: the wedding date. That step is explained in wedding numerology. A marriage rests on the two people, not on a pair of numbers.
Can two life path 6s be good friends?
Yes. The grid does not split friends from partners, and the grouping view does not either, so the verdict at the top covers a friendship between two 6s. For a 6 paired with an 8 instead, see life path 6 and 8 compatibility.
For any other two numbers or two birth dates, the numerology compatibility calculator is at the top of this page.
Master numbers in this pair
A birth date can reduce to a master number, and 33 reduces to 6. The calculator keeps the master number visible (it shows 33/6) and reads the grid through the reduced digit, so a pair that includes a 33 lands on this same cell, a grid score of 85% and a natural match. That is this site's rule for master numbers, stated with the rest of the method.

How we calculate it
- Each birth date is added up and reduced to a life path number from 1 to 9. The master numbers 11, 22 and 33 are noted and then reduced for the table.
- The two life paths are looked up on a 9 by 9 grid.
- Every cell of that grid comes from one rule: the same number scores 85; two numbers in the same group score 95 minus how far apart they are; numbers in different groups score 71 plus that distance when they are 3 or more apart, 62 when they are 2 apart and 45 when they are 1 apart.
- The distance is measured the short way round the nine numbers.
- The grouping 1-5-7, 2-4-8 and 3-6-9 is one popular reading, not the only one, and the table is our own and has not been checked by a numerologist.
The full rule, in plain words and in pseudocode, is on the methodology page.
