Life Path 5 and 5 Compatibility

Tradition: Pythagorean numerology. A tradition, not a forecast. Numerologists read it this way; the evidence does not.

Life path 5 and 5 are a natural match on one popular reading of Pythagorean numerology: two of the same number, in the 1-5-7 group, and the 9 x 9 grid our calculator uses gives the pair a grid score of 85%.

Life path 5 and life path 5 are the two inputs here. To open this pair in the calculator, or to try two other numbers, compare life paths 5 and 5 in the calculator. If you do not know your life path numbers yet, enter two birthdays and check your birth date compatibility; the result shows both numbers and both sun signs.

How does the 9 x 9 grid read life path 5 and 5?

One popular way to read life path pairs sorts the nine numbers into three groups, 1-5-7, 2-4-8 and 3-6-9, and treats numbers in the same group as natural matches. Not every numerologist uses it: numerology.com, for example, lists matches number by number and rates 3 with 6 as a difficult pair. Our grid uses the three-group reading and says so.

Life path 5 and life path 5 put one number on both sides, and 5 is a member of the 1-5-7 group. Our grid sets every same-number pair at one fixed value, a little below two different numbers of the same group. The method box on this page states the rule and its figures.

Pythagorean numerology, in the form that uses groups, is the source. Joy of Numerology calls the three sets "concords" and describes them as "harmonious". Healing Sounds calls 1, 5 and 7 the Individualists and gives them one theme, independence and freedom. That is a popular grouping, not a universal one.

Does every numerologist rate life path 5 and 5 the same way?

Not always. Numerology.com, one of the largest numerology references, does not sort numbers into groups. It rates partners one life path at a time, and its lists for a 1 and for a 7 both include 5, which fits the 1-5-7 set, yet it never states a group rule. A pair can therefore land differently there than on a group-based grid. Each numerologist publishes its own table, and ours is one stated rule that a numerologist has not yet reviewed.

How do life path 5 and 5 do in love, marriage and friendship?

A single grid cell answers all three, because the grid reads two life path numbers and nothing else about you.

How does numerology read two life path 5s in love?

The grouping view reads a pair of 5s as two Individualists who share one value, independence and freedom, in Healing Sounds' description. Neither side brings a different theme to the pair. That is how one strand of numerology describes the 5, and it is a tradition many people find meaningful, not evidence about the two of you.

Can a life path 5 marry another 5?

Yes. Numerology gives a pair a rating, not a ban, and the grid's verdict for life path 5 and 5 in marriage is the same as its verdict for love. Some numerologists add one more step for marriage: the wedding date. That step is explained in wedding numerology. Two numbers cannot say how a real marriage will go.

Can two life path 5s be good friends?

Yes. Friendship uses the same cell as romance, and the grouping view has no separate rule for friends, so the verdict at the top holds. For a 5 paired with a 2 instead, see life path 2 and 5 compatibility.

The numerology compatibility calculator at the top of this page will take any other two numbers or two birth dates.

How we calculate it

  1. Each birth date is added up and reduced to a life path number from 1 to 9. The master numbers 11, 22 and 33 are noted and then reduced for the table.
  2. The two life paths are looked up on a 9 by 9 grid.
  3. Every cell of that grid comes from one rule: the same number scores 85; two numbers in the same group score 95 minus how far apart they are; numbers in different groups score 71 plus that distance when they are 3 or more apart, 62 when they are 2 apart and 45 when they are 1 apart.
  4. The distance is measured the short way round the nine numbers.
  5. The grouping 1-5-7, 2-4-8 and 3-6-9 is one popular reading, not the only one, and the table is our own and has not been checked by a numerologist.

The full rule, in plain words and in pseudocode, is on the methodology page.

Questions people ask

Are life path 5 and 5 compatible?
On the grid our calculator uses, two 5s are the same number inside the popular 1-5-7 grouping, one of the three sets Joy of Numerology calls concords. The band and the grid score are in the verdict at the top of this page. Not every numerologist uses the groups: numerology.com builds a separate list for each number. That is a tradition, not evidence about two people.
What challenges do two life path 5s face?
Our grid gives a verdict, not a list of challenges. Healing Sounds ties the 1-5-7 numbers to independence and freedom, and two 5s bring that value from both sides. How much room each person wants, and how they settle it, is the question that view leaves. It is a tradition's description, not a fact about either of you.
Can a master number reduce to life path 5?
No. The calculator keeps three master numbers, 11, 22 and 33, and reads them through 2, 4 and 6. A birth date that reduces to 5 is always a plain 5 here, so no master number note applies to this pair.
