How does the 9 x 9 grid read life path 3 and 3?

One popular way to read life path pairs sorts the nine numbers into three groups, 1-5-7, 2-4-8 and 3-6-9, and treats numbers in the same group as natural matches. Not every numerologist uses it: numerology.com, for example, lists matches number by number and rates 3 with 6 as a difficult pair. Our grid uses the three-group reading and says so.

The grouping is part of Pythagorean numerology as one school practises it. Joy of Numerology calls the sets "concords" and describes them as "harmonious". Healing Sounds names 3, 6 and 9 the Creatives and ties them to emotion, creativity and helping others. It is a popular way to sort the numbers, and the 3 is where a well-known publisher breaks from it.

Does every numerologist rate life path 3 and 3 the same way?

No. The example in the grouping note above comes from the 3's own list. Numerology.com, one of the largest numerology references, puts 6 among the least compatible partners for a 3, although 6 shares the 3-6-9 group. A publisher that splits the 3 from its own group is not using the three-group rule, so its view of two 3s need not agree with ours. Each numerologist publishes its own table. Ours is one stated rule, and a numerologist has not yet reviewed it.

The grouping view reads two 3s as two Creatives, in Healing Sounds' terms: emotion, creativity and helping others, held by both people rather than by one. Numerology.com's split of the 3-6-9 set is a reminder that this view is not the only one. Either way, this is a tradition many people find meaningful, not evidence about the two of you.

Can a life path 3 marry another 3?

Yes. Numerology rates pairs and never bars them, and the grid gives life path 3 and 3 the same verdict for marriage that it gives for love. How we calculate it

  1. Each birth date is added up and reduced to a life path number from 1 to 9. The master numbers 11, 22 and 33 are noted and then reduced for the table.
  2. The two life paths are looked up on a 9 by 9 grid.
  3. Every cell of that grid comes from one rule: the same number scores 85; two numbers in the same group score 95 minus how far apart they are; numbers in different groups score 71 plus that distance when they are 3 or more apart, 62 when they are 2 apart and 45 when they are 1 apart.
  4. The distance is measured the short way round the nine numbers.
  5. The grouping 1-5-7, 2-4-8 and 3-6-9 is one popular reading, not the only one, and the table is our own and has not been checked by a numerologist.

Are life path 3 and 3 compatible?
On the grid our calculator uses, two 3s are the same number inside the popular 3-6-9 grouping, one of the three sets Joy of Numerology calls concords. The band and the grid score are in the verdict at the top of this page. Not every numerologist uses the groups: numerology.com lists partners for a 3 one by one and even puts 6, from the same set, among the least compatible. That is a tradition, not evidence about two people.
What challenges do two life path 3s face?
Our grid gives a verdict, not a list of challenges. Healing Sounds links the 3-6-9 numbers with emotion, creativity and helping others, and two 3s carry that same emphasis on both sides. What a pair with one shared emphasis leaves out is the question that view raises. It is a tradition's description, not a fact about either of you.
Can a master number reduce to life path 3?
No. The calculator keeps three master numbers, 11, 22 and 33, and reads them through 2, 4 and 6. A birth date that reduces to 3 is always a plain 3 here, so no master number note applies to this pair.
